The event catalog listed twenty-nine retired Champions and there were eighteen present that day. Renee Popkey (New Port Richey) was the Master of Ceremonies and announced each Champion as they went around the ring and awarded them with a pewter rosette as they exited.
Spectators from surrounding towns attended, as our event received media coverage in a local newspaper. After a break for lunch, Elizabeth Morrill & Sandy Shaffer of our club’s Agility Committee – along with Gary Shaffer – put on a demonstration with dogs “Mitzie" & “Jake” (both proud title holders) who beautifully showed off their talents.
Ending the day’s activities was a Flyball demonstration by “Jake” – the number two ranked North American Flyball competitor and the first Airedale in Florida to achieve the Flyball Masters Excellence title!
The ATCF's Parade of Champions took place on a lovely day at the Whatmough’s in Sarasota – and this event was definitely a site to behold.
